Lesson 8 - The Writing's on the Wall

The Writing's on the Wall

 

Learning the concept of PERSPECTIVE is an important concept of art.

STEP #1

Find A Wall

 

Click Here and find a picture of a wall receding into the distance using Google Images. 

 

Click VIEW IMAGE, hold the CONTROL KEY, and select COPY IMAGE.

 

Open Photoshop, choose FILE>NEW, click OK, then EDIT>PASTE.

STEP #2

Choose a Font

 

Select the Horizontal Type Tool or hit the keyboard shortcut (t) …

 

… drag a box and type something.

STEP #3

Select a Font

 

Select your text.

STEP #4

Rasterize

 

Hold the CONTROL BUTTON, click on your TEXT LAYER, and choose RASTERIZE TYPE.

Click on the FONT FAMILY on the menu bar.

STEP #5

Transform

 

Go to: Edit > Free Transform or hit the keyboard shortcut: Cmd(⌘)+T 

Last Step

Save Your Work

Go to File > Save As

Save your files to the desktop named as: PeriodNumber-LastName-FirstName-Lesson8.psd

Make sure you have the ".psd" at the end or you will not be able to open your file next time.

Log into Moodle and upload your file from the desktop to Moodle under Lesson 8 - The Writing's on the Wall..

Find a FONT and SIZE you like and select it.

Hold the COMMAND button and grab a corner and pull.

 

When you have pulled ALL corners and gotten the perspective effect you want, hit RETURN or ENTER.

STEP #6

Blending Mode

 

Set the Blending Mode to Overlay …

 

...and adjust the OPACITY so you can see through it a bit.
