Drawing Lesson 8 - Landscape Shading

If you haven't already seen the How To Shade with Colored Pencils video, take a look at it below. Please use headphones or keep the volume very low. Start at about 1:10.

Click on an image that you like, and then click VIEW IMAGE

Keep drawing circles (like ripples) going out from your circle, all the way to the edge of the paper.

When you finish, turn in your paper to the red basket on my desk!

Make sure you have your name and period number on the back!

Click this link and find a landscape outline that you like and would like to practice shading with colored pencils on. Make sure the landscape is at least 1,000 pixels for the first number when you mouse over it.

Hold down the CONTROL button, click, and choose COPY IMAGE.

Open up Photoshop, choose FILE>NEW and without adjusting anything, click OK.

Then go to the EDIT menu and choose PASTE.

Choose the IMAGE menu, MODE and Grayscale. Click OK to DISCARD the colors.

Click COMMAND + P and set up your picture like the picture below.

Don't hit PRINT until Mr. Johnson checks settings for the right paper.

Once you have your landscape printed, use the techniques from the video to shade your landscape with colored pencils!
